RETURNING TO THE PATH JESUS SET FOR US
TEXT:
1COR 15:22, prov 3:4-6
When Adam sinned and fell in the
garden of Eden, death and defeat began to afflict mankind up until our lord and
saviour Jesus came and restored man to his original position and relationship
with God, leaving behind a path for us to follow while occupying till he comes
again to take us to himself. In Adam, there was no hope, but through Jesus Christ,
we now have hope: by him God has given us the power to victory over all life's
challenge.
As we draw near to the end of the age
and coming of our Lord, there is a clarion call to return to the our first love
when we started our Christian race, when we leaned on and relied absolutely on
God, no more halfhearted Christianity, and the time to return is now.
AREAS WE NEED TO RETURN
1. We need to return to our first
love and our first work, when we got born again, to reignite the zeal, passion
and commitment to God and kingdom affair.
2. We need to return to fellowship with
the brethren.
3. A
return is required of us in quiet time, fellowship and intimacy with God
despite our "busyness", fast and tight schedule.
4. We are to return to our Christian consecration
to duty and seperation, complete separation from the world and it's lust. 2
peter 1:3-4
BENEFITS
OF RETURNING TO GOD
1. Returning back to God guarantees a
restoration of our relationship with God
2. A life sustained by faith becomes the
norm for a returned soul. Hab 2:4
3. Returning to the Lord guarantees
true success in life
4. It places us in command of the supernatural matt 14:24-29.
